The Reception classes visited the Roald Dahl Gallery in Aylesbury yesterday. The coach journey went very smoothly and we arrived with some very excited girls. We explored the main gallery to get ideas for our dreams, including robots, crowns, geese and treasure. Then, inspired by The BFG, we designed and made our own dream bottles, with a liberal sprinkling of sparkles and beautiful colours.
After lunch we found out all about Roald Dahl and explored his gallery and stories. The girls burrowed in Fantastic Mr Fox’s tunnels, they studied bugs inside James’ Giant Peach and tested plenty of sounds with the BFG’s enormous ears. We then acted out part of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Story.
It was a very busy day and when we returned to school we had some sleepy young ladies but a good time was had by all.
