Thursday 2nd November 2017
Just before half term all of Year 5 boarded the coach to head into London to spend an action packed day at the Science Museum.
The timetable for the day was:
10:30 – 11:00 Familiarisation.
11:00 – 12:00 Wonder Lab (Group A)
11:10 – 12:10 Wonder Lab (Group B)
12:15 – 12:45 Lunch
12:45 – 1:15 Shop
1:15 – 1:45 Meet ‘Michael Faraday’
1:45 – 2:30 Materials Gallery
The Wonder Lab has lots of interactive equipment and the museum provides ‘Explainers’ to help the children understand what they are seeing. The girls had a great time exploring and the time went really quickly. After lunch and a visit to the shop, also very exciting, we all went to meet ‘Michael Faraday’. He was very entertaining and also very informative; we learnt about the history of the development of electricity and the girls were involved in lots of modelling to help their understanding.
We finished the visit looking at all the different materials, old and new, we use to make things. There were interactive computer programmes to play on as well as displays.
The day whizzed by and before we knew it was time to return to the coach for the journey home.
