Music Festival Successes for High March

On Tuesday 28 November, Senior High March Voices competed in the School Choir class (Year 3 to 6) at the Marlow Music Festival. In a very close competition, obtaining one mark less than the gold medal winners, the choir gained a silver medal and a distinction with performances of John Rutter’s The Lord Bless You and Keep You and Hallelujah Get Happy, arranged by Greg Gilpin.  As well as receiving some lovely feedback from the adjudicator, special mention should go to Jemima B (6O) for her delightful solo at the start of the Hallelujah Get Happy.

High March girls achieved strong successes elsewhere in the festival too.  Sia was awarded two gold and one silver medals, Alice G one gold and two silver medals, Elise, Valentina and Nicole a silver medal, Vaiga one silver and one bronze medal, Jemima B (6K) two bronze medals and on the violin Lucy was awarded a bronze medal.  Special congratulations go to Sia who was awarded the Rive Gauche Cup for the most outstanding vocal soloist aged twelve and under, and Alice G who was awarded the Tudor-Williams Cup for the most outstanding vocalist aged sixteen and under.  Particular thanks goes to Mrs Cook and Mrs Kilbourn for their help and support on the day and also to Mr Melvin for his wonderful piano accompaniment.

Well done to all of the girls involved.
