Earlier this week Nursery CR had a fantastic time in the forest. They learnt all about Hapa Zome, a Japanese word meaning ‘leaf dye’ which refers to the Japanese art of beating leaves with hammers, thereby transferring the image and natural pigment of the leaf/plant onto fabric, usually a piece of cotton cloth. All the children had a go and they produced some lovely designs. They also collected insects to inspect under the magnifying glasses and they painted trees with mud.
After a busy morning, they enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate and biscuit around the fire circle.
