Year 3 had an exciting visit to the Earth Trust in Oxford yesterday. They explored the meadows, thinking about pollination and they hunted for mini-beasts in their dark, damp forest habitat. They succeeded in collecting meadow dwelling creatures such as crickets, grasshoppers and moths.
The highlight of the day was pond dipping and many children had the chance to study a Great Crested Newt (a European protected species) up close! It was a ‘wild’ day which the girls approached with great enthusiasm and demonstrated their curiosity for learning.
