Thursday 5th July 2018
On Thursday, Junior House children had their usual timetable suspended so that they could take part in our Challenge Day. Children were grouped vertically so there were representatives from each class in each group. Each group had a turn in working on the six fun-filled challenge activities. The activities included Bridge Building, Problem Solving with Drama, Code Breaking, Spatial Patterns, a Red Riding Hood activity and Filling a Holey Bucket with Water. It was really interesting to see how the different groups tackled the different tasks and showed resilience when their first attempts failed. Some teams were good at working as teams, while others opted for a more individual approach! The weather on the day was kind to us and the children enjoyed a picnic lunch in the garden.
The day was enjoyed by all and helped all the children to think ‘outside of the box’.
