On Friday, Year 2 girls spent the day at Wisley as part of their work on their topic on Global Gardens.
The day started with a visit to the glass houses. It was fascinating to see the plants from the Rainforests with their big, lush leaves and then, immediately next door, find the cacti from a completely different climatic zone. The girls went to the vegetable gardens, which were immaculate and large! They drew a plan of the vegetable garden similar to the one they had done on their outing to the Knotty Green Allotments – only on a much larger scale! Next came an amble through the miniature gardens full of original ideas and a huge range of different plantings. The day was finished off with a treasure hunt, where the girls needed to find items like a feather as they strolled through a different section of the garden.
The girls had a wonderful day and came home rather tired but happy after the very hot day.
