Thursday 4th October 2018
On Wednesday, 3rd October, it was lovely to see so many parents join with the Upper School girls to celebrate Harvest Festival. The girls had brought in a wonderful selection of produce, including plenty of long life milk, pasta sauces and tinned fruit, all of which had been particularly requested by the Slough Food Bank. Everything was set out in the Hall and it made a really wonderful display for our Harvest Festival. Thank you so much for your generosity in donating items.
Year 6 pupils gave two, excellent poetry presentations; 6K performed ‘Autumn Storm by Firelight’ by Katherine Marek and 6O recited ‘Harvest Dawn’ by Scarlett Treat. Mrs Hazel Chow led the School in Assembly and gave a wonderful talk to the girls, using foods such as lettuce hearts, a hand of bananas and an ear of corn to make links to our bodies. She explained some of the different ways the girls could help people around them, for instance by having open hearts and minds, lending a hand and giving time to listen to others.
As always, the girls sang beautifully, with Senior High March Voices performing ‘Sing to the Lord of the Harvest’ by J.M. Martin and the whole school giving a wonderful rendition of ‘Thank you Lord for the Harvest’ including a solo performed by Sacha.
