Wednesday 27th March 2019
On Thursday 21st March, a representative from Bucks County Council came in to give a presentation to Year 6 about ‘Beaconsfield Decides’. The scheme is similar to the supermarket charity tokens, where members of the public can choose which charity should get their support. The girls were given the chance to add their votes on how £10,000 should be allocated amongst three local causes: Chiltern Rangers Community Conservation, Beaconsfield drinking fountain project and a Skills4Life project. A short presentation was given to explain each of these projects and then all of Year 6 were invited to cast their votes.
In addition to Beaconsfield school pupils, voting is open to all residents of Beaconsfield and Holtspur and is open until May 11th 2019. You can cast your vote by going to www.beaconsfielddecides.com or by using the ballot boxes situated around town. Final votes will be collected during the ‘Beaconsfield Now’ event on May 11 and the results will be announced at the end of the proceedings.
