Thursday 2nd May 2019
The day started with a shower but, fortunately, the skies had cleared by the time we arrived at Le Touquet. The first stop was the market where the girls practised their French buying a variety of items for themselves and their families. They also had to buy some food to supplement their packed lunch. Nothing unhealthy was allowed! We rounded off the morning with a picnic lunch and games on the beach.
Next we headed to a sweet factory in Boulogne. The girls learnt how two types of sweets were manufactured and they were able to sample some of the sweets they had seen being made. At the end of the visit, they went to the factory shop, keen to buy the sweets on offer!
Everyone has just enjoyed a lovely supper and quite a few girls took their courage in both hands, making the decision to try some snails. The evening’s activity is currently under way: it is an ‘egg drop’ where girls have to ‘bid’ for certain materials to protect their egg when it is dropped from a height. The winners of the game will be those whose egg survives intact.
Another busy day for Year 6! They have had a wonderful couple of days and are looking forward to a morning of activities before heading back home.
