High March School is looking forward to next week when the building of their fantastic new indoor, heated swimming pool gets underway.
Mr Martyn Begbey of R Durtnell and Sons, the company undertaking the work, visited High March last week to explain the exciting new project to the girls. He talked about how to build a safe wall and illustrated this using bricks. He dressed a volunteer in a fluorescent tabard, gloves, reinforced-toed boots and a hard hat to illustrate the safety procedures that his company employ.
Lizzie Lawley, aged 9, said, “I am really looking forward to being able to swim in our new swimming pool. I love swimming, and it will be great to have a pool at School.”
Mrs Sue Clifford, the Headmistress of the school in Ledborough Lane said, “We are all very excited about the swimming pool project and we are hoping to have it finished by next summer. This has been something the school has been working towards for a number years so I am delighted that we are able to start the work.”
