Mr Ian Stevens from the NSPCC visits Junior House

Georgia and Estelle present Mr Stevens with the cheque from High March

Today Mr Ian Stevens visited Junior House on behalf of the NSPCC to talk to the girls in Prayers about the work of the charity. He brought along an adorable new friend in the form of the big cuddly "Buddy Bubble", the new mascot of the NSPCC.

Mr Stevens talked about the importance of helping each child to be happy and he explained that if something made them unhappy they should tell someone about it. He also asked the girls about their pets and went on to tell a story about Frank the fish to show how important it is to look after everyone – including pets and friends!

Georgia and Estelle, our NSPCC prefects at Upper School, made a special visit to Junior House for Prayers and presented Mr Stevens with a fabulous cheque for £1444.11. This represented the sum of money raised from all of our fundraising activities last term, including the Christmas Fayre.

After Prayers Mr Stevens made a special visit to the Nursery to introduce our youngest girls to Buddy. Mary in NWR was keen to ask Mr Stevens if Buddy spoke to him, and he confirmed that Buddy did speak but only in the car between visits, as he is shy.

Mr Stevens left all the girls in Junior House a special NSPCC badge, and some for the staff too! Georgia and Estelle received a special gold badge for their efforts.
